DAVID COTTLE - ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY


David is an associate attorney in Priestleys corporate and commercial team with significant experience in corporate, investment funds, finance, and private client matters. He qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2006 and was admitted as an attorney in the Cayman Islands in 2019.

David advises clients on all aspects of Cayman company law (including registration, economic substance, and the Special Economic Zone), investment funds (structuring/formation, and private/mutual fund regulation), securities regulation (SIBA), and private client law, as well as providing board/company secretarial support.

David studied medicine at Emmanuel College, Cambridge and then law at The College of Law (London). He qualified in 2006 at Ashurst (London) including 15 months on secondment to Lehman Brothers (London) and JP Morgan (London) trading floor structured credit legal teams. David was then a vice president (emerging markets derivatives) at Citigroup (London), an associate (distressed debt) at Cadwalader (London), and then a senior associate (finance) at Katten (London) including 7 months on secondment to Lloyds Bank (London) trading floor real estate finance legal team.
